LAMA
HOURANI at JA NYC Summer show
Nadwah - 23 July 2009
NEW YORK (July 20,
2009) - Lama Hourani, Jordanian
international jewelry
designer, will be showcasing her jewelry for the first time
at the 2009 JA New York Summer Jewelry Show from July 26th to July
29th. Booth 1213A in the Designer Section of the
Jacob K. Javits
Convention Center.
Designing and producing
jewelry since 2000, she opened her first art gallery and jewelry
shop in 2004. All pieces are original creations, handmade as either
a masterpiece or part of a
limited edition design.
Celebrating both shared heritage and modern diversity, her
collections are imbued with the traditions and civilizations of the
past, re-cast as stunning amulets for the future. Lama Hourani is
inspired by the primitive etchings and drawings adorning the walls
of the caves throughout Jordan's desert as well as the country's
rich archeological relics. The symbols are familiar, explicable and
become a universal language that conveys freedom of expression,
peace and unity without ethnic, cultural or religious barriers.
Lama Hourani will be featuring the following "art-to-wear"
collections:
• Lamystique - Lama's signature circles, an interpretation of
primitive cave drawings
hand-stenciled on silver, gold or gold-plated discs.
• Gypouin Revue - This collection is inspired by the native Gypsy
and Bedouin jewelry
made with simple materials.
• Bedu Chronicle - Multi-layer chains of different lengths and
thicknesses embrace
charms with fine details.
• Talisman ALAMA - Lama's charms contain stories and mythology of
the
Mediterranean reflected through symbols.
• Oriental Song - Various cultures in one mold - from Asia's South
East to the Middle
East - this collection is set with hand-carved jade from the
mountains of
South East
Asia.
• Unlock - This collection is inspired by ancient and modern keys,
ancient coins,
archeological relics and totems of the desert to create the
collaboration of old and new.
• Geo-rustic - Incorporating her primitive symbols with geometric
spheres, cubes and
discs on thick chains and tassels with semi-precious stones and
Japanese silk.
