She Called My Name

Gregg Seipp

She called out my name,
Her voice rippling across the water
It echoed through the trees
Caressed their slowly circling leaves
It broke out into the broad expanse
of the shimmering sky into the wistful, lumbering clouds
Over black forests
Across mountains and oceans
My name went everywhere
Spoken to continents
To presidents and kings
Whispered into the very ear of God
Carried there on the white wings of her fragrant voice
