I am a Christian

Gregg Seipp

I am a Christian
And you are Muslim
And, you there, you are Buddhist.
You, with the light hair, are a Jew.
You, sitting on the steps watching children run by, are Hindu.

You have lovely skin.
You have wet eyes.
A strong neck.
You are far more beautiful than I am.

Your hands are gentle
But rough from hard work.
And youre voice is
Sometimes warm and soft, sometimes hard.
You make people smile.
And, occasionally, cry.

I know about you
We share something.
Something brilliant and exciting
And so very hard to find.
Something that transcends religion.
I know.
I feel it too.
