Have you not known
That if you opened the windows of your safe
flat
To smell some fresh air
Fire smoke will enter
The smoke that stretches itself
On the roads of the city
Searching all the houses
For the escaping happiness
And if you did
A heavy dust will lie on the furniture
Covering the photos
So they do not reflect lights
And your image will be blurry on the mirrors
Fog in the colour of the nights
Will reside in your eyes
And you will look at life
From behind what spiders weave
Needles will pierce your lips
Threads will go through them
And you are buried, in silence,
In a humiliating defeat!
Have you not known
That every time you cross the road
You will be given a new life
If you reach the pavement of safety
And one day you will press wine
And milk seven dry and weak cows
And eat some leftovers of dry wheat
From the last harvest
And you will be crucified on the top of the hill
And birds will eat bread from your head
And they will poke the eye of rebellion
Eat the mouth of hope
And pick at memories,
Tear philosophies away
Shatter your dream on the roads
And nothing will be left from your genius head
But a skull!
Have you not known
When you were on the stairs of your house
That the stairs were broken long time ago
That bats live in the dark lobby of your building
That surely you will fall if you take a step forward
With a stubborn heart
In spite of its wounds
In spite of darkness
In spite of the frowning clouds of years
And in spite of your gloating neighbour
That neighbour who had never wished you good
One day you will fall
And a night bat, blind and evil,
Will poke your eyes
And the Persian fire will be extinguished
When it was warmth and light in your heart
When it was a symbol to inspire 'No'
In a heart elevating itself,
Hoping to live!
