Wailing on the ruins
I
ran
Searching for my heart under the debris
I
carried away bricks
One by one
I pushed away stones
And under the sands of the past
I saw images flowing
Waves cascading in silence
Taking me ashore
Everything reminded me of my heart
When he loved for the first time
He would stay the night awake
If his lover granted him a glance
He would melt if he listened to a love song
Feeling the burning meaning of each letter
He would fly with the sacred tone to heaven
Love was the most precious thing to him
A sacred secret and heavenly light
But last night
He was lying under the debris
I
was searching the corners for him
And urging my neighbours to search
We pushed away sands and stones
Lifted up collapsed columns
And eventually
They found a heart for me
A
dry heart
A
frowning heart
With cracks and wounds
Empty of love, sad
They had left
And I continued to search for my other heart
Under the wreckage!
