Give me an excuse
To stay with you
For only several minutes
To walk with you to your bus station
Carrying your bag, heavy with your shopping
My shoulder touches yours.
My arm brushes against yours, in longing
Like a bird
Hastily picks a grain of wheat
Like a lover
Steals a kiss
When his envious watchers are not seeing!
I hear your laughter
My heart swears
Never to frown again!
Give me an excuse
All excuses are sweet to me
Let me enter paradise
For moments
To water the desert of my heart
With a river of longing
The bus will come
And you will leave
Back to your home
Leaving my heart
Weaving your memory in a scarf
From the least things in the market:
From smelling a perfume that smells like yours
From seeing vendors selling flower rings to lovers
From seeing a woman's hair looks like yours
Traveling like a wild horse
Without rein
From seeing the colour of your blouse or skirt
On a manikin
From seeing movie covers on video tapes
From hearing love songs
Echoing from some cafeterias
From seeing every bus station that look likes yours
From seeing cars' lights
Reminding me of your smiling eyes
Everything reminds me of you
I roam the streets
Retrieving glimpses of a fleeting dream
Thinking of tomorrow when I see you
And seeking another excuse
To stay with you
For only several minutes!
